~ Public Relations is Everyone’s Business ~

A Message from the President

Brandi Wheeler, Community Liaison
Hoffmann Hospice

February 1, 2010

Dear Friends,

It is a true honor to be elected President of Antelope Valley Public Relations Officials for 2010. I am excited at the prospect of bringing the PROZ vision to our community, growing our organization and developing a cause related outreach strategy that best exemplifies the spirit of our committee.

Spirit…what an awesome word! Other descriptive words for spirit include strength, courage, character, guts, will, strength of mind, fortitude, moral fiber, determination, chutzpah, and heart. As I look at both past and present board members for PROZ, I find each and every one of you embody these very qualities. Fortunately, as we face a world of diverse people with different ideals, backgrounds and beliefs, these qualities empower us, affording the opportunity to build relationships in our community and to consistently promote the concept that public relations, is indeed, everyone’s business.

We have faced many challenges in 2009 as individuals, in our businesses and across our great nation. Yet, we move forward with conviction, dignity, and most importantly, with empathy. It is empathy and understanding that will bring the PROZ organization to the forefront of our community. One small step creates two more steps that continue until we reach our goal.

It is based on this philosophy that I invite each and every one of you to speak of PROZ wherever you go and with whomever you meet. Encourage attendance at our meetings and work to grow our organization. While we all bring our own individual talents and contributions as members, we should always strive as a team to make PROZ an extension of whom we are and what we do. Be mindful of compelling and informative guests you feel will support our mission and extend an invitation to them to attend and/or join our group.

Finally, I ask that we reach out to others. It is important that as an organization we identify needs in our community, embrace causes close to our hearts and make a commitment to give back. Only then, can our mission come to fruition. Only then, can we truly say we have served. As a community representative for Hoffmann Hospice, I have discovered the importance of ‘life and making the most of every moment”.

I am so proud to be a part of this great organization and look forward to vast growth this year. Always remember…. “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work.”

Blessings,

Brandi
